Thursday February 13, Martuni’s
Yes! We’ll be in SF!!! Kathleen and Henry will be performing many of the Henry’s Hideaway tunes and other favorites as guests of Dawn Oberg’s Bar Fly Cabaret (in the back room at Martuni’s, 4 Valencia St @ Market, SF).
This place is as close to Henry’s Hideaway as we’re ever likely to get..come help make it a reality! Doors open at 6. No cover.
Friday February 21, Brisbane Inn
Join the Brisbane Porch People. Line up includes the Flying Salvias band, Big Lou, Jerry & Melissa, and who knows who else will be dropping in? We’ll be coming down off our porches and descending on downtown Brisbane, and perhaps reliving some of its glory days when there were at least 4 bars on Visitacion. Brisbane Inn is the last cowboy standing. We’ll all be doing some of our own stuff, plus tunneling back to the days when many of us were playing at Dick’s Tower, the 23 Club, and Quicksilver Saloon. Anything could happen. Expect to be surprised. Corner of Visitacion and Mariposa. 7:30 pm, no cover.
I can’t completely ignore our current political maelstrom, but just erased the rant I was writing because if there is any chance our music can bring people together, I don’t want to miss it, no matter how much my pacifist resolve is crumbling. Right now a lot of us are VERY angry, sad, disappointed, mad, bitter, and scared. In view of the “show” of the last couple weeks, I would venture to say these feelings may be starting to be shared by many of us citizens, though we may be standing at opposite ends of the political alley. So whether you’re a Jet or a Shark, please consider joining us for a night of musical peace and tolerance. After all, “Everybody loves everybody at Henry’s Hideaway!”
