Flying Salvias

Hello SageHeads!

Fall is in the air, you can almost taste it! It’s such a great time of year, except for the leaf-raking part. We hope you are all well, happy, and enjoying October.   This month, the band will be back at HopMonk Sebastopol on Wednesday October 7, 6 pm - 8:30 pm.  We do need to let you know that after many years of free Wednesday night shows, reality has come to call and the club is now asking a $5 cover charge,   We are grateful to Kevin Russell and HopMonk for keeping it free as long as they could.

So just this one in October, but in November, we’ll be at San Gregorio Store, and at Lucca’s in Benicia.

Thanks to be given: To Jenny Kerr & Philbille for including us on the bill for their record release extravaganza last Sunday at Peri’s, and to Kevin Russell for including us in his Men of Steel ensemble last night at HopMonk Sebastopol. Name drop: We were with April & Monroe Grisman, Darren Nelson, Susan Z, Keller Sisters, Essence, Sunhunter, Rob Hooper, JP,  Bobby Black, Joe Goldmark, David Phillips, Dave Zirbell, Jon Mitgard, Candy Girard, Myles Boisin, Dallis Croft, Paul Olguin, and Tim Gahagan

Favor to ask: We want to play at The Sound Room in Oakland. It’s a perfect room for the night club side of us. You can see Henry there with Maurice Tani this Friday. We also want to play at the DeLuxe in SF. Everyone wants to play at both these places and we are remarkably without connections and also very shy, EXCEPT maybe you are buddies with the bookers at these clubs, or you’re a regular they will listen to? Please feel free to put in a good word for us! After decades of club work, I actually just now thought of this idea. No wonder we’re so famous, she sarcastically says!  Oh yeah, and while I’m in the begging mood, Hardly Strictly. Hey, it could happen.

For now, peace to all,

Kathleen & Henry Salvia
