Big Beautiful July

Dear Sage Heads

The Declaration of Independence sets forth the self-evident truth that all men are created equal with certain inalienable rights such as life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all.  Truly something to celebrate on the Fourth of July, eh? Except there has been one major change: the word "all" must now be amended to "some".  We try to cope, to be kind, to do what we must, to do what we can, and not to let hate move into our hearts. We have our signs!  We play music!

So here is something fun about our most recent attempt to bring a little light to the situation.  For the last song at the show sponsored by SF Recreation & Parks and Illuminate Live at the GG Park Bandshell June 25, we brought all the players back onstage- Bob Reid, Judi Jaeger, and Allan Wachs joined our band members David Golia, John LoGiudici, Ken Owen, Henry and myself. We sang The Youngblood’s/Dino Valenti/Chet Powers' “Let’s Get Together”. So many of the people in attendance sang along... brought tears to my eyes.  Old hippies never die, they just sing along. It was beautiful. We thank Steffan Franz for giving us the chance, and Tyler and Prince for making us sound so good!

And here are some fun things in the future with which to cheer ourselves up:
